Ancient Egyptian Amulets:
Ujats / Udjats / Wadjets (The Eye of Horus)

All my Egyptian artifacts were legally exported from Egypt prior to the 1970 UNESCO treaty, and my policies comply with all international trade laws regarding antiquities. Every item is legally and ethically acquired, coming from old American and European collections, museum deaccessions and auctions. Provenance is not always listed in every item description due to restricted space, but is provided on the certificate of authenticity that accompanies each item. Enjoy!

These amulets were an essential part of the burial ritual in ancient Egypt. The Eye of Horus was a mythological symbol, representing the falcon-god Horus' missing eye after the cataclysmic battle with his brother Seth. When buried with a mummy, it symbolized a portal... an eye into the afterlife. Unless stated otherwise, all amulets are crafted of faience. All were made in ancient times with a horizontal hole through the piece for wearing and stringing along with beads, etc.
